Unable to copy driver file xobglu16.dll...

I am trying to install some software on our school computers (win 2000) but
non-administrators get the error :

Unable to copy the driver file c:\winnt\xobglu16.dll to your Windows directory.

I would prefer not to give all the students access to the windows directory if
it is at all possible.

Any solutions would be gratefully received...

We ran into this problem with our software as well. I had several of my
programmers try to figure out a workaround, but they could not figure out how
to trick the projector. We ended up upgrading from Director 6.5 to 7.1 and the
problem went away.

You might try running the program as Admin. Look for the file xobglu16.dll or
xobglu32.dll while the projector is running. It should be in one of the Windows
temp files. Then lock down that file so that Director can't erase it when it is
done.

Go to the following link and d-load the files, save them to the windows dir. Makes sure they are read only and your program will work well.

You'll need to log into the computer as a local administrator. Start the
programs that are not working as a "normal" user. You'll have to do a search
for the xobglu16.dll and probably the xobglu32.dll file. You'll only be able
to see these files if the program is running. These files are usually deleted
when the program quits. Right-click on these files and tick the box to make
them "read-only."
