For the life of me..Director no longer supports the tell command and with
its new way of handling communication between an MIAW and the
stage...nothing seems t0 work.

I have an MIAW calling a handler in the stage, the handler is in a movie
script...nothing special..

MIAW code that i have tried...i get an error in the MIAW when i call the
stage handler:

Handler not found in object
#mycustomhandler


Lingo i have tried

_movie.stage.mycustomhandler()




window("stage").movie.mycustomhandler()


_player.window("stage").mycustomhandler()

After a lot of trying out things finally found the following in the manual
under what's new:

window("stage").movie.testhandler()

I tested it like this:

tell window("test") to window("stage").movie.testhandler()

in which window ("test") is the MIAW
and testhandler is the handler in the main movie.

This way you don't have to keep opening and closing movies.

From within the MIAW, it's definitely

window("Stage").movie.handlername()

As long as the handler exists within a MOVIE script then it should be found.
